Sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) is a kind of sodium phosphatepolymer, which is usually white powder crystal or transparent glassflake in appearance.

SHMP chemical has strong hygroscopic property and will becomesticky after hygroscopic. lt is very easy todeliquescent in air and soluble in water with higher solubility andmilder dissolution rate. lts aqueous solution is acid and easyto hydrolyze to phosphite. Use

1, mainly used in food and industrial industries. The main applications in the food industry are:

(1) sodium hmetaphosphate used in meat products, fish sausage, ham, etc., can improve water retention, increase adhesion, prevent fat oxidation;

(2) For bean sauce, soy sauce can prevent discoloration, increase viscosity, shorten fermentation period, adjust the taste;

(3) Used in fruit drinks, cool drinks, can improve juice yield, increase viscosity, inhibit the decomposition of vitamin C;

(4) Used for ice cream can improve the expansion capacity, increase the volume, enhance the emulsification to prevent paste damage, improve taste and color;

(5) for dairy products and beverages to prevent gel precipitation;

(6) Adding beer can clarify liquor and prevent turbidity;

(7) Used for canned beans, fruits and vegetables, can stabilize the natural pigment, protect the color of food;

2. The main aspects of industry are:

(1) Sodium hexametaphosphate can be heated with sodium fluoride to produce sodium monofluorophosphate, which is an important industrial raw material;

(2) sodium hexametaphosphate as a water softener, such as used in dyeing and finishing, play the role of water softener;

(3) Sodium hexametaphosphate is also widely used as scale inhibitor in EDI (resin electrodialysis), RO (reverse osmosis), NF (nanofiltration) and other water treatment industries.

Methods of production

1. Sodium dihydrogen phosphate method is heated to 110~230°C by sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate to remove two crystal water and structure water, and then further heated to 620°C dehydration, to produce sodium metaphosphate melt, and polymerization into sodium hmetaphosphate. Then, it is discharged, made when cooled from 650°C to 60~80°C, and crushed to produce the finished product of sodium hexametaphosphate.2. Phosphorus pentoxide is mixed with soda ash in a certain proportion, and it is heated to depolymerize, and the resulting sodium hexametaphosphate melt is made and cooled by sudden cooling to obtain industrial sodium hexametaphosphate products.
